The Portrush Beach Races will be returning for the third time to the East Strand on the 12th and 13th October 2019.
In previous years, the Beach Races attracted 120 competitors who entertained the crowds of spectators with some close racing of motorcycles and quads on the sandy beach course with man-made jumps overlooking The Skerries.
Speaking about what the crowds can expect this year, Eddie Johnston said: ” This is a wonderful event both for riders and spectators. Motocross and Enduro riders from across Ireland provide some excellent racing for the watching crowds.”
“As in the past years, riders will race in various classes including solo motorcycles Experts, Semi- experts and Clubman MX1 and MX2, Enduro bikes and Quads.”
“The riders and their support crew have always found this a fun event and that is evident to the spectators who attend the races across the Saturday and Sunday.”
Connery Mc Gill of Sign-it, the main sponsor of the Beach Races added: “It’s great to again support this popular event as it enters its third year. The Beach Races offer some great racing and a fun, family friendly event for all those watching.”
The two-day race event, starting at approximately 10am on the Saturday and 1pm on the Sunday, has free admission for spectators .
The race is organised by Foyle District Motorcycle Club with the support of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
Other race sponsors include HTM Motorcycles, Chilltec, MBS Motorhomes, Maud’s Cafe and Nutt Travel.
There are 4-5 races per class each day with prize money awarded in each class for 1st -6th – also the overall winner of the two-day event will be awarded
the HTM Portrush Beach Race Cup for best overall motorcycle competitor.
