Round 3 of The 2019 Irish Minibike Championship Series moves to Nutts Corner Karting Circuit on Sunday 5th May for the first visit of the season.
Rounds 1 and 2 have attracted full grids and with the addition of yet more new Memberships the trend is set to continue.
Championship standings after Round 2 see 8 yr old Dungannon Starlet, Lewis Mullen, lead from Buster Sherman-Boyd and Matt Davidson in The Honda VW & Audi BITZ Sponsored BamBam Class. In The Temple Tree Services Junior Pro Class Wicklow’s Fionn Stephens leads from Freddie Cooke and Ruben Sherman-Boyd. The BMW Autoparts Junior Gearbox 125cc Class is currently lead by Kai McClintock after topping the leader board in Rounds 1 & 2. The Ballymena cub leads the way from Isaac Mark and Fionn Stephens by 10 points. In the BMW Autoparts Junior Gearbox 140cc Class Dromara’s Alexander Rowan has a clear lead from Ruben Sherman-Boyd and Robert Ronan. Christopher McCallion will be hoping to maintain his marginal lead from Richard McFarland and newcomer Paul Harding in the HAWKS Sponsored MiniGP Class. Retired Short Circuit star Nigel Robinson currently leads from Longford’s Graham Ronan and Kildare’s Kelan Smith in The Hillhead Sheds VETS Class which has seen the grids quadruple since the inaugural season. Round 2 GCM&E Star of the Round, James Thompson, will be hoping to make it a hat trick of visits to the top of the leader-board in the highly competitive AJM Car Sales Senior Open. James leads by a clear 10 points from 2018 Runner-up Nigel Robinson and Mark Featherstone. The IMC Senior Stock Class sees James Thompson again leading the way from Chris Moody and NW Competitor Kenny Robinson. Banbridge man, Michael Thompson, leads from Enniskillen competitors Craig Scollan and Scott Montgomery in Group 2.
Practice begins at 10.00am with the first race of the day at 12.30pm approx.
Practice is available on Saturday evening 6-9pm, at a cost of £45. Payable to Nutts Corner Circuit.
Overnight stays are available.
