SUPER SEELEY POSTS DONINGTON DOUBLE TO LEAD CHAMPIONSHIP

A hard-fought and well-deserved British Supersport double at Donington Park, moves Alastair Seeley and EHA Racing to the top of the championship standings after three rounds. The Ulsterman took the Sprint race win on Saturday, then backed it up with a feature race win aboard the CF Motorsport prepared EHA Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 on Sunday. He now leads the championship by a healthy 30 points.
In the British Superbike Championship, series rookie David Allingham again impressed on his CF Motorsport prepared EHA Racing machine, posting 19-17-18 in the weekend triple header of races in the premier BSB class. The Irishman showed strong pace in qualifying on Saturday also, posting a P5 position in the opening qualifying session.

Speaking of his British Supersport double, Seeley said: “That’s certainly put the North West 200 disappointment behind us. The whole team needed those results and we’ve proved this weekend that we are serious championship contenders. Craig and the boys gave me a great bike for both races. Sunday’s race must have been great to watch. Two wins is the perfect way to bounce back, and leaving Donington Park as championship leaders is a great way to head to Brands Hatch in a few weeks’ time full of confidence throughout the team.”

On the Superbike triple header, Allingham said: “I’m a little frustrated, even though we had another good weekend finishing all three races in the top 20. We had the pace for the points, but it didn’t quite work out for us. On a positive note, I’m learning more about BSB and the bike with every session and race meeting. In race one my fastest lap was just over half a second off the best in the race; that’s how tough it is out there. I’m really enjoying the Superbike class and the goal at Brands will be to get back into the points. Thanks to everyone at EHA Racing for a big effort.”

Gail Allingham – Team Manager: “We are obviously delighted to get back to winning ways in the Supersport class with Alastair, and David again did a great job in only his third British Superbike race meeting. That second Supersport race was undoubtedly the most exciting of the weekend, with just one tenth of a second covering the top three. Alastair now has posted six straight podiums: four in second place and this weekend’s two wins. All down to a big team effort from the CF Motorsport guys, who are an integral part of our EHA Racing crew and of course Alastair doing a superb job on the bike. David should also be very proud of how he’s handling himself in the BSB class and he has shown great potential. There is certainly a lot more to come from him. Thanks as always to our team sponsors and those who turn up to support us. Always very much appreciated.”

The next round of the British Superbike & Supersport Championships takes place at Brands Hatch on June 14/15/16.
